As the lead designer, I initiated and developed ViMi Labs’ first scalable design system to address the lack of consistency, accessibility, and efficiency across its digital products. At the start, there was no centralized design language, component library, or accessibility framework in place.
I conducted a full audit of the digital assets to identify usability gaps and accessibility violations, prioritizing issues based on severity and impact. From these findings, I built a business case for investing in a design system, highlighting the long-term benefits in speed, consistency, and compliance. I then created a modular UI library in Figma, complete with accessibility guidelines, usage documentation, and component variants to ensure proper implementation by developers. This system now serves as the foundation for a more inclusive, efficient, and brand-consistent product development process.
